1877 Strong Ale
Originally brewed by Whitbread, London
Revival series #12
A big beer that was brewed as a draught beer. Folks in Victorian England probably saw it as a session beer, but they were made of stronger stuff than us.
Beaming golden in color with flavors of honey-glazed sugar cookies, ginger spice and a touch of Angostura. Subtle fruit flavors of pears, apples and peaches. Hints of alcohol pepper but not hot. Mineral dryness, drying hop resins and a punch of bitterness keeps the sweetness from being cloying.
